Yes Officer, I have a licence

I was in Selfoss with Sam looking to buy some winter tyres. I had parked outside a garage whilst inside discussing tyres. We got back into the car. I began to reverse and BANG. I hit something. I felt the colour drain from my face. I looked out the back window and couldnt see anything…so I suspected the worst. I got out of the car to see a tiny car with a huge dent in the bumper and a broken headlight. I felt sick. The guy who owned the car came out of the garage (Thank God he wasnt in the car), smiled and went to drive off. We stopped him and showed him his car to which he said “Ey ey!” Sam tried to pass him the phone which had óðinn on the end ready to talk to him. He took the phone and just held it in his hand! At this point I felt like crying and running away. The guy, who spoke no English, said for us to go inside the garage with him. A few calls were made and we were told to wait for someone to come and sort it out. The old man, who seemed more concerned with my car than his, kept smiling and saying it was alright…which was very sweet. Next thing I knew a police car shows up. The policeman asked if I was driving and if I have a licence. Yes and yes…but I dont have the licence with me; which made me panick even more! But he was a friendly guy and told me not to worry about it “These things happen”. I apoligised to the old man again and left. So, heading home without winter tyres and damaging two cars…Good day!

Sorry old man in Selfoss for hitting your car…I wont do it again!

Someone said… Shit happens… but no one and no one died so…
I backed into a small car once. I had a Ford Econoline and it had 2 spare tires on the back. I looked in the mirrors and didn’t see anything behind me so I backed up… but heard and felt something and went out to see this tiny little car behind my car. It had two dents from my spare tires and nothing else. It took me a long time to find the owner. I left a note on the car and didn’t hear from the person until several weeks later…

Look at it as an experience….
