Blue Lagoon

The Blue lagoon is considered to be one of Iceland’s most treasured possessions. It is founded on a unique source of geothermal seawater, known for its positive effects on the skin that originates in Iceland’s extreme environment. It attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists each year (407,000 roughly) with the promise of relaxation, spa treatments and the experience of becoming one with nature.

The Lagoon has a sauna with a good view of the water, a steam bath with white walls that resemble silica mud and a cozy steam bath carved into a lava cave. There is also a waterfall which you can stand underneath for a great massage! Bathing in the milky waters of the lagoon allows you easy access to the famous white silica mud, an essential part of the ´spa experience.´ a selection of Blue Lagoon in-water spa treatments and massages are available. These take place within the Lagoon itself, using the fresh air to help with the ´feeling of well-being´.

My experiences with the Blue Lagoon have been unforgettable. The twice I have been there it has been windy and raining. It does add to the experience of it though. I thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. The sauna was great, the steam bath is amazing and the waterfall is very good for massages. When I have left the Blue Lagoon I always feel refreshed and relaxed. If you come to Iceland…you have to go there!
